About SustainAbility

SustainAbility is a specialist consultancy that focuses on helping small and medium-sized businesses with changes to their strategy and operations due to climate change.

The UK government has written the UK's commitment to net zero by 2050 into law.

With hundreds of new regulations expected, a parliamentary commitment to a 78% emission reduction by 2035, stakeholder behaviour changes and supply chain disruptions - there is a lot for businesses to consider when thinking about how and when to act.

With nearly a decade of experience in sustainability strategy as well as experience in running small companies that will be affected by these changes, we're excited to collaborate with you and help you achieve your goals at this pivotal time.

Why SustainAbility?

  • Impetus for change is coming from all angles - customers are demanding more sustainable options, governments and regulators are writing climate policy into law, employees are looking for sustainable commitments from employers, and supply chains are being interrupted by climate events.

  • Despite the challenges, with the right knowledge and support, most companies have the ability to benefit from the changes needed to tackle climate change. These changes can make our businesses more efficient, allow us to capitalize on sustainable customer behaviour, and help build long-term resilience.

  • At SustainAbility, we use our experience and knowledge to offer realistic short and long-term measures, personalized to your business. We help you determine when, how, and to what extent, you will be affected by climate change. We will provide tips to stay ahead of, and benefit from, incoming changes. Collaboration is key to success - we look forward to working with you.

My experience

  • I have spent the last 10 years at the world's most pre-eminent management consulting company, McKinsey & Company, working on strategy for some of the largest and hard-to-decarbonize companies in the world.

  • I have led teams and supported clients in determining the suitability and scale of sustainable aspirations, navigating regulatory challenges, and discovering how to apply sustainability as a competitive advantage, as well as many other strategic challenges.

  • My clients ranged across a variety of industries including oil & gas, banking, retail, hospitality, and public sector entities. I worked with the C-suite and boards as well as operational departments across all levels of the challenge, taught courses on how to decarbonise oil companies and achieved the highest available sustainability expertise at McKinsey.

  • In addition to my consulting work, I co-founded a venture capital backed social enterprise that supports individuals who have experienced homelessness to return to work, raising over £250k in seed round funding and received the government's Andy Ludlow award.

  • My professional experience in sustainability, strategy, and entrepreneurship is backed by my degree in Biology from Durham University, the small business I started at university, and an enduring passion for sustainability that began when I was 12 years old (check out my nature photos across the site!).
